Band Baja Baraat!!
Hello Readers,
Sorry for not being able to update the blog recently!! Guess what I've been busy in...Yes its the Wedding Season!! I love summer weddings...minus the heat! its all about bright colors, fun makeup, and a whole lot of dancing!! I had to attend two of my friend's wedding...one from the bride's side and the other from the groom's side..and thats whats been keeping me occupied...
Traditionally they say that the groom's side is much more fun but i beg to differ, this time one of my fren Pragati got married and we had so much fun starting from mehendi, to the ceremony and ending with the reception!! It was crazyyy fun and guess what...I had to wear a saree...my dreaded enemy :P
I don't wear saree much often and I dont have a huge collection of it.. wearing it is fine by my...its the walking in it part that has a problem with me..hehe.. Anyways I wore this beautiful red saree..as red is the color of the wedding, It was a chiffon, jaipuri saree with tiny details and prints in it. My bestie Gayatri completely looked gorgeous and graceful in her peach chiffon saree with flower works in it.. All in all the wedding was such a great experience and I had an awesome time with my dear friends..
Here are some pics for you to enjoy!!!

Lip Smackers!!
Hey Beautiful People,
Yes Summer is so on!! and its getting friggin hot by the day!! I don't know about you guys but i've been staying indoors...my skin can't handle the sun :)
Well my aunt just brought me some make up stuffs from abroad and yes I love make-up (even though im not a pro). I love experimenting with new products, trying out new things, specially eye shadows and lip products.
So she brought me these cool stuff from Revlon which I had been eye-ing for quite some time now. They're called the Lipbalm+Stain Just Bitten Collection. She got me two of those, one in a nice shade of pink called Passion and the other in a darker shade called Forbidden. She also got me a lipstick from the color burst lip butter collection in the shade called Cotton Candy. Here are the pictures of them and swatches on my lips :) Enjoy
Sorry for the bad quality pics..Im planning on upgrading for a better camera soon!!
So the downside of Revlon lip product that I tried was
1. The lipstick turned out to be too sheer although the color looked nice, it wasn't pigmented enough. I had to keep applying layers to get the color that too it barely got there..but it has a nice shine and is like a good lip balm which hydrates the lips.
2. The lip balm+stain also had the same problem. The colors looked nice, but they weren't really pigmented! Although this lasted the whole day :) so that means its a good thing.
But both are fun kinda thing to try on!!Specially for the ladies who like less color and more hydration :) i love the idea of the lipbalm+stain coz it looks like marker pen and is really very easy to apply!!
Hope you guys enjoyed reading this :)
Stay gorgeous, stay beautiful

Nude Geometrixx!!
Hello my beautiful peeps,
Yet again I’m up with another easy-breezy nail-do to
brighten up your hands!! This one I call Nude Geometrixxs. The base color is
nude. You can chose any shade of nude or bright colors if you like
- First apply a generous coat of ur base color. I’ve used one from Avon here.
2. Then apply
your shimmer/shiny polish creating a triangle on the tip of your nails.
- Taking a black striper (u can use a toothpick) if you don’t have one and line the tip of the triangle like so
- Then you take your black nailpolish and create a mini triangle in the big silver triangle.
- All you have to do now is apply a good layer of your top-coat and leave it to dry!!
Voila!! You have your shiny nail accessory on and your ready
to hit the town J
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial… Feel free to give
suggestions and feedbacks
Till then stay beautiful

Glitter N Gold!!
My beautiful ladies,
We all know how important it is to have our nails look prim and proper!! Its like to have good nails and hands are a must! they do make an impression and add to your personality!
Nail-dos and funky nail art is like an obsession for me!! I love painting my nails and change them every two or three days....I have posted several nail art pics that i've done so far in my instagram but have never really blogged about it!! Also summer is close by so why not add some color into your life... a manicure and nail art can create a huge difference in your look :)
So today Imma share one I did recently this afternoon!! I call this GLITTERATI RED!!
All you need is a nail polish of a color that you like, a base coat-to protect your nails, a glitter polish or some nail glitter can work too and a top coat to seal of your design.
1. You start with applying the base coat to all your nails.
2. Second you apply the nail color of your choice. Now you can either apply two coats or leave it with just one coat.I chose the color red

3. after applying your nail polish let it dry completely. Then you start applying your glitter polish. Start at the bottom of your nails, near the cuticle and work your way up. You don't want your full nail covered in glitter, create a gradient effect like so

4. after you done, apply a generous amount of top coat to seal off your design and your ready to go :)
I chose red as it's one of my favourite color and you can do this for wedding season, or for the brides to be to make your nails look funky and add some life!!
Some more pics of such nail-dos that I found on the internet!!

So take out ur polishes, get your nails painting and have fun this summer :)

Eye~Candy
Hello to all the beautiful people out there!!
I know its been ages i haven't blogged apart from me promising to do so regularly. Its just that we have so much going on in our lives that blog just doesn't seem to get that much attention frankly!! However I think again, that I shud continue this blog with whatever pops in my mind :) And from now on I'm gonna start blogging about whatsoever little knowledge I have of Fashion and everything else!!! :P
In this one I'm Particularly going to write about Falsies...or fake lashes!! I know rite...its the next big thing, it gives your eyes that POP (specially for the gurls with small, straight, and thin lashes). Trust me...a big whoop of mascara with the falsies can totally change your look and intensify those eyes!! and sultry, sexy eyes is something that is going to be big this summer!! You can keep your makeup minimum and jus add those lashes to bring out that natural yet beautiful look!!
Recently my sis from Hongkong got me these two cute/sexy lashes which are very fancy and I wouldn't advice you to wear them on a normal day!!! However they turned out to be pretty edgy, and cool at the same time so have a look!!

starry eyed gurl :) |
The pictures of me wearing the falsies were taken by my cuzzies who's a beginner at photography!! Check out his link for his pictures https://www.facebook.com/nakul42?ref=ts&fref=ts
Taking care of those eyes is a must, hence please do not sleep on with the false lashes as it may cause irritation and eye infection!! And store the lashes with care :) Wearing them is very easy, it usually comes on with a glue so after u wear them glue u jus stick it on to ur eyelids after completion of eyemakeup and voila...ur ready to rock ur new lashes :)
Stay beautiful <3

Response to the Responses!!
As you all know recently a post from my blog on Teej was published on the newspaper as an article. It was a great feeling, everyone complimented me and congratulated me on that occassion and your support means a lot to me. Honestly it was my first article and I'm no Writer or Reporter neither a Journalist so I did think it was a tad bit amateur, however the response was very much positive or I'd like to think so and it has encouraged me to do more writing!! SO gear up for more people :)
And along with the positive notes and comments there always follows a certain sort of criticism(?) I'm not sure what to call it as I don't actually take it as one...more like a suggestion or an advice and I was so amazed by the responses in the newspaper the following day after!
First of all, I have nowhere mentioned that Fasting or the celebration of Teej has been forced by men, I have just given my understanding and opinion on the occasion of Teej and how the society that has been created is very much Patriarchal in nature and by patriarchy I want to clarify to my dear friends that Patriarchy is not just related to men. Women can be equally patriarchal in nature. It is a concept which has been ruling not just Nepal but the whole world where Male supremacy is given importance. And the concept of Patriarchy has been so much drilled in our systems since childhood, that giving up that concept and embracing a complete new one is a challenge for us. So women who have been fasting, or have been told to fast for most of their lives cannot just discontinue what they are following. And I agree it is their belief and I respect that. But within that we need to understand how women are being made dependent. And I have no where mentioned how Fasting is a way of suppression, what I meant to say is how societies makewomen believe in doing something where they need to put themselves in the inferior category and believe that the male are supreme is a sign of suppression.
And then comes the whole issue of faith. What faith are we establishing here. The faith that if we pray to God we have our wishes granted? or the faith that you work hard and honestly for what you want and you get rewarded? This I think has been a critical debate issue in cultures worldwide. Issues related to faith and religion. As to what we are told to believe in, what faith or what religion means to us are merely taught to us by society and our elders. As change is inevitable, I think with time, cultures change, religions change and so do faith. And my point here is do we keep our faiths intact with no room for change and a breath of fresh air or do we start our own faith? the faith of being HUMANE, the faith of humanity and nothing more complicated.
Last but not the least, I have plenty of friends who are well-educated, aware and feminists and they still do celebrate Teej, but not by fasting or sticking to the age old practices. And yes I have asked about what Teej means to women and most of them have replied saying to get good husband, its like thats all they want from their lives. Its like the age old American Tradition of women conceptualizing themselves and good housewives. That was their aim, and that was all they wanted: a good-loving husband, a good family. Also most women have replied saying, we have to do it as in there is no option. Everyone in the family does it so even if we don't want to do it, we have to. The issue of force does come here again!
One of the reason for Teej is for women to get together and have a good time, eat good food, sing and dance together as in ancient times, women after getting married weren't given the freedom to visit their parents houses. So many women and men or even the society might argue that Teej was established as a way of giving women independence and it was solely for women, but as the recent lecture I attended by Kamala Bhasin, she said something that touched my soul; A day's freedom? Is that what women are worth of? IS that what we women want? It did made me think and I feel it should make you think too.
so what the women have to slog for the rest of the year and theres just this one day that they get to celebrate their independence by eating the previous day and fasting the next day for the longevity of their husband? I'm sorry but that doesn't sound any logic to me.
I know I'm not a gender expert but I am getting there, and my writings might be very premature but what I write is what I feel. These are just my opinions and point of views which everyone might not have a liking to. I am pretty much straight forward and I say things the way I see them and the way I analyse them to be. All in all I'm pretty much glad that atleast I got some responses otherwise I wouldn't be writing again :)
And as I always end with a positive note: comments, criticism(i honestly wouldn't want to put it that way) advice and suggestions are always welcome.
